Um is a different take on the pilot Explorer, the same way Dillon has a different take on his explorer ways. Um’s back legs are strong enough to propel him hundreds of feet in the air, then it uses its mushroom cap as a parasail to glide Dillon from city to city as he uses the views as inspiration in his writing.
Um has a large peacock tail that acts as a rudder to steer in the air. This is a nod to Dillon’s boisterous persona.
